Fiber occurs naturally in many foods. Fiber isn't digested but travels through the system brushing the intestines clean of debris. Fiber does not remain in the body but accelerates the elimination process. Dried Figs have 5.6 grams of fiber as compared to 1.0 grams in carrots. Dried figs, fresh guavas, rasperries, rice bran, sesame seeds, safflower seed meal all have more than 5 grams of fiber. One should try to eat one of these foods once a day.
