Day 67 Learning to Walk
My neuropathy is localized below my knees. It manifests itself by numbing all my functions below the knees. I am focused on curing this condition but there are no guarantees my regimen will work. However, I have had to learn to walk again. More precisely accept signals my feet are all of a sudden sending me. Topically, my skin still feels numb, but inner parts of my feet and legs are starting to be felt. Its like I had to be careful not to fall. My balance wasn't there. Now all of a sudden my head is getting feeling from my feet and I am slow on the uptake to automatically respond to the knowledge they impart. Its like I can start to practice open field running after being restricted to walking on the sidewalk. I plan to take it slow but these signs are encouraging.

When walking up and down stairs I have been extremely careful not to fall. Numbness in your feet makes you sometimes fail to pick up your feet which causes you to stumble; not a good stategy for stair climbing. Today I bounded up the stair because of greater control of my feet and greater leg strength. I think if I push it harder, I can improve the feeling in the feet and legs. I have been taking it easy and need to start pushing it.
