Day 161 Intestinal Tracts

The intestinal tract of a meat eater is only about 4 times the length of his body trunk as measured from his hips to the shoulders. The distance from the hips to the shoulders measures about 4 feet. That makes a meat eaters intestines 12 feet long. This short intestinal tract is best suited for meat, which putrifies rapidly. The intesinal tract of a fruit eater is proportionately longer measuring about 12 times the body trunk length which for a man is about 48 feet. Vegetable matter, because of its fiber content, is slow to digest, requiring the significant increase in intestines for adequate assimilation.
